2) I think that the words are really … Take me out /in/ the crowd… although, as is common enough in das volkslore, adherence to authority is often overcome 🙂
3) I takes a lot of practice but it can be fun and funny to sing the first “Take” as an up-beat, throwing everything and everybody into giggling confusion as to timing.
